All The Small Things

Hello there!

It’s been a while since I’ve updated, but here I am now! I’ve been adding new work to my site all day, as I realized I’ve been doing so much, and then only posting it to Tumblr or Instagram…>.>; Or in some cases, such as with my past storyboarding gigs, not posting it anywhere!

So, you’ll notice that my Illustration page has now transitioned to Illustration/Storyboards, and it even includes actual storyboarding samples now. Jinkies! I’m also in the process of adding some of my favorite The Last Diplomat pages to the comics section, as well as updating my commissions and illustrations gallery.

If you’re an X Men fan, the original cover I did for X Men 100 is available on EBay right now!

Also, thanks a ton to all the fine folks who came by the Emily and the Strangers panel and signing on Sunday at SDCC! I was floored by all the wonderful support for Emily, and it was really great to meet you all. If you liked issue #1, issue #2 hits stores tomorrow, so be sure to look for it!

A night at the opera!

The wonderful folks at the Portland Opera invited 20 local cartoonists to come to a dress rehearsal of Pagliacci and Carmina Burana. They asked us to draw scenes and characters from both pieces to help promote the show! I was one of those lucky artists, and here are some of my favorite drawings from it!

Fun With Liquids

Hello one and all,

Sorry it seems like I never update anymore. Prep for Stumptown plus my goldfish taking very ill and needing emergency care have kind of kept me from drawing as much in my off hours. However, things will soon be back to normal! I hope!

In the meantime, take a gander at this test I did for work. It didn’t end up getting used for anything, but it sure was fun to do.

Monsters and Dames

Well, I pushed myself hard to do an illustration for this year’s ECCC edition of Monsters and Dames. Of course, since no one had asked me to do one, and no one was expecting it, it probably won’t be in the book. However, I’m still not sorry I did it. I worked hard, used a bunch of new techniques, and completed it several days before the deadline. Now I have a nifty illustration I think I can be proud of, and will probably sell prints of this at cons.
If nothing else, all of my friends were doing awesome work for this, and I really wanted to be a part of it, and prove to myself that I can produce work. Nothing makes me feel worse than wondering if I’m just posing as someone in the art community in which I exist, or if I actually have the skills and drive to fit in.
Anyhow! Check it out! This piece is also doing double duty as concept art for a short film I’m working on in my spare time at Fashionbuddha. Of which I have very little, but still, I can do this!

It’s not much, but I added a few new sketches from some past life drawing sessions. Check it out, why don’t you?

Hey folks!  Remember that drawing of the angel I posted a few weeks ago?  Well, he’s all colored and now up in my fantasy gallery!!  Here’s how it came out!

New things!

Hey folks! I’ve been hard at work here in wordpress land, trying my best to get this site up and going. The fruits of my labors today are some new additions to the existing galleries, as well as a life drawing album with two galleries in it! Visit my gallery page and have a look, won’t you?

I promise one of these days I’ll actually get to customizing the theme so it will display some of my own artwork, rather than a design by someone else…

New Art!

Hey folks!  I added a new picture to my Fantasy Art Gallery!  It’s just a quick sketch, but I was happy with it, so I threw it online.  Go look!
