Bioshock Sketch Card

Hi folks!

If you go to the Periscope Etsy store, you can find a hand-painted, one of a kind, sketchcard of Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite, done by me! There’s only one, so jump on it while you can!

Magic times

I was sitting at the lunch table at Periscope Studio a few weeks ago, and Natalie Nourigat asked me to draw myself as a magical witch. So, here is what I came up with in my sketchbook off the top of my head.

Wonder Woman Commission!

Here’s a commission I did recently. I was asked to paint someone’s wife as Wonder Woman for her birthday, and it was delightful to put together. I am seriously pleased with the way this came out, and I’m glad I can share it now!

Candide, or “Optimism”!

Last night, the Portland Opera folks were kind enough to let us sit in on the dress rehearsal of their latest production: “Candide”. Out of all the lovely productions they’ve invited us to in the past, I think Candide reigns as my personal favorite. It was funny, well-sung/acted, and has a woman with only one buttock! How can you not love it? But don’t just take my word for it. If you live in the are and would like to experience Candide for yourself, I have a special offer for 50% of tickets! Sweet, huh? Just follow this link: and use the password GLITTER.

Also, many thanks to Morton’s Steakhouse for providing us with lovely free wine and food, including excellent mini steak sandwiches! It’s always such a treat to feel pampered for an evening.

I got quite a few sketches out of the evening, and I’m posting them all here for your enjoyment!

Here, have a new link!

Hey folks! Sorry I’ve been a little short on fun new content these days. I’ve been lost in the recent deluge of paying work, and haven’t had much chance for doing fun personal illustrations. However, I’m finishing up with a few great things that I can’t wait to share with you all, as well as well as plotting out a brand new comic or two!

In the meantime, here’s a link to my brother’s blog, Mike Goes To Grad School. There’s no art, but you can read all about what it’s like to be a marine biologist who tracks fish in Southern California!

Friendly Neighborhood Spider ‘Stache!

So, I drew this.

As some of you may be aware, Movember is upon us! I cannot grow a mustache, sadly, so instead, I am doing mustache art! This is my first of what I hope will be several pieces. It’s ink and watercolor on 500 Series Bristol!

It can be yours for all time with a $50 donation to Movember! Just follow this link to make your donation, and include the note “FARRIS SPIDER-MAN”!

All your dollars go to eradicate cancer, so you couldn’t feel better about getting this piece!

More info here, at Joe Keating’s site!

A Very Scott Pilgrim Halloween

Hey folks! I’m going to take this moment to shamelessly show off my halloween costume from this year! I was Ramona Flowers, and it was probably one of most fun(and practical) costumes yet!
Also, I swear to you I had boots for this outfit. I just… forgot to put them on for the photos and didn’t realize it!^_^;;;

Don’t Forget! Women of Wonder Day!

Hey folks! Just to let you know, my painting of Toph and Katara is up for bidding on Ebay! It’s sitting in the ranks of some very fine art by lots of great folks, so I am super honored. Why not have a look at all the pieces and place a bid? All the proceeds go to support victims of domestic violence, so it’s going for a fantastic cause!
Also, I will be at the official Women of Wonder Day event in Portland, at Excalibur Comics! I’ll be there from 3-6, signing and sketching! Come and see me!

Don’t Say Goodbye

Here is my finished submission for Monsters And Dames. The Monsters And Dames book compiled by the folks at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, and sold every year at the show for charity.

I’m hoping against hope my entry makes it in this year!
