Emerald City Comic Con 2012

Hey folks!

Now seems like as good a time as any to announce that I’ll be in attendance at this year’s Emerald City Comic Con! I’m really looking forward to the show this year. Emerald City just gets better and better each time, and this year I’ll have a bunch of new prints and minis for you folks.

I’ll also be taking commissions, so if you’d like one, you can come see me at the show, or you can contact me at cattifer(a)gmail(dot)com and put yourself on the list now.

My work will also be included in this year’s Monsters and Dames book, so be sure to check that out as well!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Emerald City is the best around!

I’m back from Emerald City Comic Con 2011, with pictures and high praise! I had a really great time meeting fans and new folks alike, as well as doing lots of sketches! It was so great to see everyone.
Now I am going to be cheap, and use my con sketches to help me catch up on my daily sketch blog. Most of the pictures are less than great quality, as all I had time to do before handing off the drawing was snap a quick picture with my old iphone. I hope you enjoy them anyhow!

She-Ra, Princess of Power!
My first sketch of the con, commissioned about 5 minutes after the doors opened on Friday! Best start to a convention ever.

Poison Ivy
This was one I did for myself, rather than someone else. She sat on my table and attracted some business for me, as well as a few people who thought she was Tinkerbell…

Basil, from The Great Mouse Detective.
Commissioned by a little girl dressed as Underdog!

A Kiwi bird.
This was a blast to draw. I love kiwi birds!

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Snakes!

Dylan and Rhys as Batman and Superman
I was asked to draw someone’s cousins(or was it nephews?^^;) as Batman and Superman! This was really challenging, but also very rewarding. The man who commissioned it took this scan for me.:)

Parrot Girl
Based on Hawkgirl. This was a portrait of someone’s girlfriend, who happens to be in the parrot business!

A leopard
Commissioned by a very little, very adorable girl with a tiny sketchbook.

Thank you everyone for coming out and helping to make ECCC 2011 such a great show!

F is for Flaccid

Hey folks!

I’ve got a new Flaccid Badger book in the works, and I want your help to make it. Here’s the deal:
The third book in the installment is going to be Flaccid Badger’s Forest Friends A-Z. I am currently soliciting suggestions from you, my friends, readers, and passers by. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed that I will use whatever you suggest, however. I’m simply looking for help brainstorming. But, if I really like your suggestion, I just might use it in the new book, and thank you in the printing.
Not a huge reward, I know. But if you’re still interested, here are the rules:

Please, nothing profane. I know Flaccid Badger sounds dirty, but it’s G/PG-Rated, and I want to keep it that way.

I’m trying to stay away from alliterations if I can. None of the current characters use double letters, and if at all possible, I’d like to maintain that standard.

The animals are going to be listed off alphabetically by the adjective that precedes it. For example: F is for Flaccid Badger.

Here are the animals I already have:

Flaccid Badger
Obese Squirrel
Blind Elk
Disgruntled Bear

That’s it! If you have a suggestion, tweet it to me! I’m @cattifer. You can also e-mail me, or comment here on this post.

Also, don’t forget, I’ll be at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend, all three days! I’ve got copies of both issues of Flaccid Badger, as well as buttons, prints, and copies of Legend of Larsha! I’ll be taking commissions as well, so if you’d like to have me sketch anything at all(maybe a Flaccid Badger universe character of your own creation?), let me know!

Emerald City

Hello all!

Emerald City Comic Con, easily the finest mainstream comics convention on the west coast, will be taking place in Seattle March 4th-6th!

I’ll have buttons, prints, and minis available for purchase, and I’m also taking requests for convention sketches. With this in mind, I’d like to announce that my sketchlist is wide open, and that I’m taking early requests if anyone is interested! Don’t wait til you get to the con, just comment here, or e-mail me at cattifer(at)gmail(dot)com and I’ll put you on the list.

My prices are as follows:

Pencil sketches- $20
Inked sketches- $30
Inked sketches with tones- $35

If you’ve been hoping for a Flaccid Badger sketch, or perhaps a chibi superhero, or anything at all drawn by me, now is your chance!

Hope to see you there!

Emerald City!

Hey all!

As you might have heard, I was up at Emerald City Comicon this last weekend.  I had a great time, too!  That convention gets better every year, so if you missed it this year, make sure to check it out next year!  Thanks so much to everyone who came by my table and said hi, picked up a copy of Flaccid Badger, etc!  I hope you all had as good a time as me!
