Japan Week Auction!

Hey everyone!

We’re into the last 24 hours for my Japan Week piece! The bidding ends tomorrow afternoon. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by the Ebay page and look at the pieces there, you should go now! Click here! Both my piece and my studiomate, Aaron McConnell’s, piece are into the final throws! Don’t miss out on a fantastic chance to get some great art, and help out the people of Japan at the same time.
All proceeds from these sales will be donated directly to Mercy Corps, who are working with the Japanese charity and aid group Peace Winds. Your dollars will go directly to helping the people over there in the most need.
This auction has been a great success already, and I could have asked for a better group of artists to go in on this endeavor with. While you’re there, my studiomates Natalie Nourigat, Ben Dewey, and Jonathan Case have pieces up as well, and you should really give them a look. If you’re strapped for cash but still want to help, share this post, share the Ebay link! Pass it around so we can spread the word and do the most possible good!

Thanks everyone!!!

Whether you’re high or low

HERE!

I finally finished! My Janelle Monae piece for the the Periscope Sketch Challenge!

I love Janelle. She is one of the most talented people working in music today, and her stuff often inspires me to work harder and reach for better things in my art.

Also, I’m claiming this as…

063!!

Dude! Is someone eating a banana??

046:

Some more Periscope fan art. I used to sit next to Ron Randall every day. He’s not usually this indignant, but I do tend to give him a hard time. Often. I kind of think of him as a second dad, as he’s always willing to give advice not just about art, but about life in general. He also likes bananas.
No matter how foolish my question, Ron has always been willing to answer it. I owe a lot of my advancements as an artist to advice Ron has given me over the years!

Erika Moen is AWESOME.

042:

Because she is.

I originally had some other sketch planned to go up as 042 today, but I changed my mind. I was going through my web stats today, and discovered that someone had gone to my website using a search term disparaging one of my favorite studiomates. That made me really damn sad.

Erika Moen is one of the most awesome, talented, kind-hearted, free-minded people I have ever had the pleasure of associating with. Her art encompasses everything from modeling for photographs, to drawing webcomics, to creating fine art inspired by iconography, and a bunch of rad stuff in between! I’m really proud to be a part of the same comics studio as someone so inspiring as Erika.

I did this drawing in the style of some of Erika’s sweet iconographic art. You can see them here.

Also, Erika has a brand new webcomic she’s working on with writer and fellow studiomate, Jeff Parker. It’s called Bucko! If you like dick and fart jokes AND mysteries, you’re going to love it!

Now I want to do fan art for everyone at Periscope!<3
