Wonder Woman Commission!

Here’s a commission I did recently. I was asked to paint someone’s wife as Wonder Woman for her birthday, and it was delightful to put together. I am seriously pleased with the way this came out, and I’m glad I can share it now!

I’m Your Silver Lining

I recently had the great pleasure of being asked to watercolor over my original art for my Luna Lovegood print. I wanted to stay as close as possible to my original idea, but I wasn’t sure exactly how to go about it. So in true Farris form, I just started painting and hoped for the best! The result was a piece of original art I am truly proud of, and I got to experiment with a few new techniques that I can now add to my watercoloring bag of tricks. I like the hand-colored version so much, I’m considering getting prints of it made to replace the computer version I currently offer.

I hope you like it, too!

Don’t Forget! Women of Wonder Day!

Hey folks! Just to let you know, my painting of Toph and Katara is up for bidding on Ebay! It’s sitting in the ranks of some very fine art by lots of great folks, so I am super honored. Why not have a look at all the pieces and place a bid? All the proceeds go to support victims of domestic violence, so it’s going for a fantastic cause!
Also, I will be at the official Women of Wonder Day event in Portland, at Excalibur Comics! I’ll be there from 3-6, signing and sketching! Come and see me!

Women of Wonder Day!

Here is my finished piece for Women of Wonder Day, 2011! I had such a fun time doing this piece, I think I’ll be a little sorry to let it out of my hands. But it means that YOU, dear reader, have a chance to own it! The money is all going for a great cause, so why not familiarize yourself with?

Japan Week Auction!

Hey everyone!

We’re into the last 24 hours for my Japan Week piece! The bidding ends tomorrow afternoon. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by the Ebay page and look at the pieces there, you should go now! Click here! Both my piece and my studiomate, Aaron McConnell’s, piece are into the final throws! Don’t miss out on a fantastic chance to get some great art, and help out the people of Japan at the same time.
All proceeds from these sales will be donated directly to Mercy Corps, who are working with the Japanese charity and aid group Peace Winds. Your dollars will go directly to helping the people over there in the most need.
This auction has been a great success already, and I could have asked for a better group of artists to go in on this endeavor with. While you’re there, my studiomates Natalie Nourigat, Ben Dewey, and Jonathan Case have pieces up as well, and you should really give them a look. If you’re strapped for cash but still want to help, share this post, share the Ebay link! Pass it around so we can spread the word and do the most possible good!

Thanks everyone!!!

O Hai

Remember this piece?

Well, it’s up for sale on the Periscope Etsy! You can see a better photo there. This was done on bristol board, with watercolor and ink. I did this while at Emerald City Comic Con 2011, for no one in particular. It just popped into my head. So perhaps you could argue that I drew it just for you.;)
